Brands For Good Awards 2026

Founded in 2013 in São José dos Campos, Brazil, the Alpha Lumen Institute was established through the pioneering vision of educator Nuricel Aguilera to address a critical and often overlooked gap in Brazilian education: the identification and development of high-potential and gifted students, particularly those in underserved public-school communities who lack access to opportunities commensurate with their abilities.
Alpha Lumen is built on the conviction that exceptional education can be a powerful driver of social transformation. Its mission is to democratize access to advanced educational opportunities for gifted and high-potential learners while cultivating a strong sense of ethics, autonomy, leadership, and social responsibility. By removing economic barriers and creating personalized pathways for talent development, the institution ensures that brilliance is nurtured based on potential rather than privilege.
Over the past decade, Alpha Lumen has emerged as one of Brazil’s leading institutions in gifted education and talent development. Its students have earned more than 7,000 national medals and 35 international medals across prestigious academic, scientific, and robotics competitions. The institution has built partnerships and learning opportunities connected to globally recognized organizations such as MIT, CERN, Stanford-affiliated initiatives, and international robotics competitions. Through its nonprofit school and scholarship-supported programs, Alpha Lumen has enabled low-income, high-ability students to access world-class educational experiences, with 98% of graduates approved into top national and international universities.
